I’m delighted to be presenting Big Fence / Pitcairn Island at the Martin Parr Foundation alongside my friend Jon Tonks, who spent much time in the British Overseas Territories of the South Atlantic.
Rhiannon Adam and Jon Tonks each discuss their photographic practice, both of which explore islands of remote British territories.
Jon Tonks’ work spans four areas: St Helena, Ascension Island, Tristan da Cunha and The Falkland Islands. Rhiannon Adam’s work is based on the Pitcairn Islands, a group of four volcanic islands in the southern Pacific Ocean. Each of these isolated areas often involve a long sailing or infrequent flights to reach them.
This event is a part of the MPF ongoing series of free talks, providing a platform for emerging photographers to share and discuss their practice, supported by WEX Photo Video.
